We had two teams in the Hainault 2-up Paul this year. Martin and son Jim did 1.0.55 in the Hainault 2-up 25. Winners were Neil Dowie and Gary Emposn (API Metrow) with 53.38

Spoco 10

Wednesday 31st August

This was reduced to 9 miles due to road works and Julia did 21.51 for 1st lady. Fastest was Murat Ozdenya (PCA Ciclos Uno) in 19-34.

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 8th August - E14/10b

A warm night with just a gentle breeze meant fast conditions and it was a close tussle for 2nd place between Paul, Andy and Julia, with Paul's faster 1st lap giving him the edge. Mark was the clear winner however in 23.05, despite flying back from a weeks holiday in Canada the previous day.
The 15 points Paul gained for 2nd place means he is the winner of the Twilight Trophy

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 1st August - E14/10b

With the heat wave finally over, conditions were much cooler with a strong blustery wind. With a number of riders away it was left to just two riders fight it out with Andy getting the better of Julia.
Mark was the big loser in the Twilight Trophy however, opting for a last minute holiday instead of riding the 10 which would have made an uphill task for Paul in the final event - barring mechanicals etc. As it now stands, Paul is almost certain to win - again barring any mishaps.

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 25th July - E14/10b

Another hot and humid evening in the continuing heat wave. Paul produced another consistent ride in 23.57 to make the most of Mark's mechanical trouble just after the start where his wheel pulled over twice. Mark ended up with a 24.06 with Andy 3rd in 24.23. Chris Burley also decided to ride fixed this week and ended up with 25.12.
Paul stretches his lead in the Twilight Trophy but it will come down to a nail biting finish.

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 11th July - E14/10b

Conditions were not quite as hot as last week and with just a gentle breeze, quite fast. Mark has obviously recovered well from the Ironman and stormed round in another new course PB of 22.53. Paul (and Graham) was recovering from La Marmotte but still recorded 24.03 and there was a close tussle for 3rd with Andy getting the better of Julia and Chris. Linda just missed out from going under 30 minutes for the first time.

Mark now stretches his lead in the in the Twilight Trophy.

Conditions were hot and humid with a gentle breeze and so quite fast. With Mark and Paul both away, it was left to Andy, Chris and Julia to battle it out for the win, with Chris edging it by 1 second from Andy, both doing their best times for the season so far. Linda continues to improve and will be looking to go 'inside' for the first time shortly.

The overall positions in the Twilight Trophy remain unaltered although the gaps have closed.

InterClub 10 v Chelmer CC

Tuesday 27th June - E14/10b

Our annual Interclub against the Chelmer CC resulted in an individual and a team win. Conditions were good and Mark Edmonds sped round the course in 22.57 which was yet another course PB and 47 seconds quicker than Nick Green - the first Chelmer rider. Second claim member Steve Freeman (first claim Chelmer) was 3rd. Everyone else improved to their best times this year except for Paul Martin who had to stop to see to a broken spoke but was still 4th overall.

Mark now takes the lead in the Twilight Trophy, although both Mark and Paul will miss next weeks event as Mark is riding the Austrian Ironman and Paul is riding La Marmotte.

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 20th June - E14/10b

Conditions weren't looking promising for fast times with gale force winds, however they were in the best direction for the course and certainly didn't slow Mark Edmonds down who recorded yet another course PB of 23.16 to leave him well clear of Andy Ballentyne who moved up to second place this week using 90.6" fixed. Paul may have been feeling the effects of a hilly 100 mile Sportive around the Cotswolds on Sunday, however that didn't slow down his son Jim who did the same ride and also recorded a course PB.

Mark is now just 2 points behind Paul in the Twilight Trophy.

Club Evening 10

Tuesday 9th May - E14/10b

A warm evening with just a gentle breeze meant a good turn out and improvements on the previous club 10. Paul Martin got the better of Mark Edmonds who was baulked however by a car so the outcome would have been very close. Paul extends his early lead in the Twilight Trophy.

32nd Association "30"

Sunday 23rd April - E1/25c

Traffic lights had sprung up overnight just before Newport so the 30 had to be changed to a 25 on the E1/25c which starts and finishes just north of Newport and turns at the Four Wentways. The wind was fairly light but the roads were very wet and it was raining for most of the race which probably contributed to teh two punctures suffered by Richard Jordan. Julia Freeman was the fastest Easterley rider with a respectible 1.2.51 ahead of Dave Spencer and Andy Ellis. The winner was Roger Bryant (Shaftesbury CC) in 59-40.

32nd Association 25

Sunday 26th March E1/25b

Conditions were a lot warmer than they have been of late but the strong winds made for some very old fashioned (even prehistoric!) times. Andy Ballentyne gained a little revenge on Dave Spencer from the Club Hilly but that was little comfort when compared with the 58.02 that Paul Smith knocked out. Full results

Club Hilly 20

Sunday 5th March E17/20

A very cold morning saw a hardy group of members stretching their legs for the first club event of the year which resulted in a win for for Paul Martin just over a minute clear of Ian Morgan who was using his training bike with mudguards! Ian however also lost a minute when he was unsure of the course and turned round shortly after the start believing he had gone wrong (he can navigate us from John O'Groats to Lands End but can't get round a 10 mile loop!!!). Julia was a three minutes behind Paul and Dave Spencer a further 5 seconds back.
